Northwest Auto Repair

I've has several really good experiences with these guys over the last month. I live in the neighborhood and brought the car in to get a burned out taillight fixed. The guys did it in no time, changed 3 other bulbs and didn't charge me a dime. I suppose that's a good way to recruit new customers because the next week I came back for a transmission flush. Unlike most other places they scheduled me in for just a few hours allowing me to have my car for most of the day. I guess I'm so used to having to give up my car for a full day no matter how routine the service that this really pleasantly surprised me. The other day there was a rock stuck on with tar between my brakes and the rotors and while another shop wanted to replace ALL of my cars brakes and rotors (front and back!) without taking much of a look, these guys diagnosed the problem, removed the rock and fixed it all, again at no charge, again - a pleasant surprise. You can ask for a buy 3 get one free oil change card next time you're there too. The front desk guys Pete and Steve are very friendly and explain car things in regular words, without pushing unnecessary services on you like many of the other shops that I've gone to. Sure, they'll offer you all the services that they can, but I've never felt pressured in any way. On top of that they have consistently quoted me the lowest price for services compared to 2 other shops in the Portland/ Vancouver area where I used to take my car. This place is just better than what I've come to expect from mechanics these days.

It is *so* hard to find an honest mechanic to work on my car. After being pushed around at several different places (and not being able to believe my Ford really needed $3k in repairs), Pete at Honest-1 was recommended to me a year ago (this review has been a long time coming). I can't say enough about how well I was treated. Seriously, as a woman, so many of these shops treat me like I'm out of my league when I talk to them and like I couldn't ever really understand what they're saying. Pete was not only direct, honest, and friendly, but he showed me under my car what exactly was wrong, and helped me understand the necessary steps toward repair. Even beyond that, he gave me advice about what was really necessary, and what was actually inconsequential. BTW, I ended up spending less than $500 on the repairs that supposedly totaled $3000 elsewhere. I love you, Honest-1!

These guys rock! They really take care of their customers and the prices are great. But what I like most about them is they are the most environmentally conscious auto repair shop I've ever come across!! They use re-refined synthetic oil and they plant a tree for every car they service. I'm sending my friend's husband there, he's a vet and they do free oil changes for Veterans and enlisted people. They even give discounts to police, firefighters and paramedic. I feel like I can trust their word when they tell me something is wrong and they won't try to do extra repairs. I love their free wifi too! I can work while they work and not have to get a ride or take the bus and come back. The mechanics are friendly and respectful. I recommend them to anyone.

Great shop!I have been going here for about 3 years with a few different autos.There very prompt and trust worthy. They made a slight error once on something minor and when I came back about it, the manager went out of his way to make it right and gave me a coupon for a free oil change.It's nice to have a place where I feel I can trust what they say.

As a first time customer here at Honest-1 Auto Care I was very impressed with your lobby. Previously I went to another mechanic shop and their floor was disgusting. I wouldn't let my son touch anything. It was nice to come into a clean environment and know that not only was my car getting good service, but my son wouldn't walk away germy. We very much enjoy our experience here, and will certainly be back.

they have taken excellent care of 3 cars of mine and i have recommended them to my friends. they are honest, respectful and get the job done when they say. plus i only live 1 block away, i know they are there for me. Gd guys they are

I started using this shop because it was close to my house but I continue going there because they have great customer service and reasonable prices. Pete is always honest and explains things in a way I can understand. I went to Les Schwab for some break work and they told me I had a broken rotor which was going to cost over $300 I took the estimate to Honest-1 and got the part for half the price. They always get my car in quickly and finish the work by the end of the day. I would recommend this shop to anyone, Pete will help you out.

A quadruple thanks to Pete and the crew at honest one. Pete is one of the most genuine people I have met. He has a talent for dealing with people in addition to being a great mechanic. The first time I walked in I told him a friend of mine referred me to the place. He not only remembered her by name, but proceeded to rattle off the last two cars she had taken in there. Stellar memory! He helped me out with my vehicle when I got in a wreck by going above and beyond the call of an everyday mechanic. I am very grateful to him for letting my car sit until the insurance end was squared away. Every time I go in there everyone is pleasant to deal with. Their attitudes and responsiveness to helping me out during a crisis even when they weren't getting money out of the transaction has made me a customer for life. These guys where so awesome and made having my car repaired a surprisingly pleasant experience with the best price in town! They where able to get me in quickly, honored their original estimate and they even had free drinks and computers with internet for customers to use in the waiting room. Everyone, mechanics included, where super friendly. I have found my new mechanic!
